Rim locks were a very common and frequently used locking mechanism in Queensland homes in the 1920’s. When it comes to replacing or rejuvenating the the fittings it is important to get it right. Here are the 3 components to ensure it all fits perfectly which are sold separately.
- Rim Lock – different varieties online, all sold with 2 keys, stiker plate and matching screws
- Knobs – ensure that the website states that it is compatible with a rimlock, ie milled edges mortice knob. They come with 2 knobs, 2 rose plates, spindle and screws.
- Escutcheon – key cover usually the same colour as the knob, comes with matching fixings.
